EP0027 – The Journey – Meeting a Stranger
In this new episode, I share a story based on a scripture I have always valued. It comes from Matthew 25:35-40.
35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: 36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. 37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? Or thirsty, and gave thee drink? 38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? 39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? 40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. -Mathew 25:35-40
I share a story that reflects what the Savior taught me, which later inspired me to write a song I included at the end of this episode. The story happened two years ago and involves my sister, who struggled with emotional, mental, and physical issues, and a stranger I met. Both situations offer a lesson on recognizing and applying the Savior’s teachings.

“It is easy to do things for our own families and loved ones, but to give of our substance for the stranger who is in need is the real test of our charity and love for our fellowmen.”

“The good news of the gospel is not the promise of a life free of sorrow and tribulation but a life full of purpose and meaning —a life where our sorrows and afflictions can be “swallowed up in the joy of Christ.”
Christ is my joy and hope; in Him, I find peace and comfort in all aspects of my life; without a doubt, no matter what is happening, I know I will be alright because the Lord will “direct my paths.”

Throughout my life, I have learned that when I trust and choose to follow the Savior, I can see His hand and His miracles. Even though I might not understand everything, I know He is watching over me.
