KFJ 14 – The Journey – A New Day

“In this episode, I chose to speak on a topic that has been on my mind for a while. – New Day, its value, purpose, and a question, How do I start a new day?

I often ask myself questions just before I get up.

What this new day is going to be like? What is my plan for a new day?

What does your new day usually look like?

Resources

Psalms 118, verse 24, says.

24 This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.

I share one of my favorite poems – “TODAY” by Kenny M. Fullington, which I read often with my children.

Today

Outside my window,
A new day I see
And only I can determine
What kind of day it will be

It can be busy and sunny.
Laughing and gay,
Or boring and cold,
Unhappy and gray

My own state of mind
Is the determining key
For I am only the person
I let myself be

I can be thoughtful
And do all I can to help
Or be selfish
And think just of myself

I can enjoy what I do.
And make it seem fun.
Or gripe and complain.
And make it hard on someone.

I can be patient
With those who may not understand
Or belittle and hurt them
As much as I can

But I have faith in myself.
And believe what I say.
And I personally intend.
To make the best of each day.

Psalm 143:8

“8 Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; for in thee do I trust: cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto thee.”

Each day I awake, I can lie in bed,
Or I can get up and get ahead,
A new day to achieve my dreams and goals
Or a day to relax and just take a stroll.

My attitude determines what each new day will bring
I can be thankful for all the little things
Or I can be full of dread and fear
And miss opportunities that are so dear.

Life is too short to waste our days
Get out of bed, be happy and say
A new day has been given to me
I bring to it the best I can be.

I would like to share a song that I composed many years ago, “WIOSNA,” which means Spring.

Spring is my favorite season because it represents “a new beginning.” I love how everything around me starts to awaken after Winter; at least in my area, we have a long winter. Spring brings me hope and new ideas, just like a new day.
