KFJ 3 – The Journey: Coming to Christ

Today, my message is centered on the journey of coming to Christ. It has been an incredible journey to let Christ into my life, learn about Him, accept Him, and follow Him daily. He is my Savior, a friend, and an example of love. I know He knows and loves me; I cannot comprehend the sacrifice He made for me and each of us.
In this episode, I want to emphasize my message on the fundamental step in my journey—the journey of coming to Christ. The knowledge of Him influences everything that I know. The person I am today and all that I have, I owe to Him. For as long as I can remember, I have believed in God, and all that represents Him. The journey started early in my childhood when my mother read us a book about Heavenly Father, his Son, Jesus Christ, and the creation of this beautiful world. I would picture His love for me; it felt warm and comforting. Those stories of Jesus were my favorite, and I waited every night for another story before going to bed. When I recall those evenings, I can say that a special relationship was developed in my little heart.

The quotes used are from:

“Behold, I stand at the door and knock: if any man hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will sup with him, and he with me.”
–Revelation 3:20

“In this life, we have to make many choices. Some are very important choices. Some are not. Many of our choices are between good and evil. The choices we make, however, determine to a large extent our happiness or unhappiness because we have to live with the consequences of our choices. Making perfect choices all of the time is not possible. It just doesn’t happen. But it is possible to make good choices we can live with and grow from. When God’s children live worthy of divine guidance, they can become “free forever, knowing good from evil; to act for themselves and not to be acted upon.”
–James E. Faust, in a talk “Choices,”

“Happiness is a condition of the soul. This joyous state comes as a result of righteous living.”
…“No one needs to feel alone on the road of life, for we are all invited to come unto Christ and be perfected in Him. Happiness is the purpose of the gospel and the purpose of the redeeming Atonement for all men.”

….

“Life is good if we live in such a way to make it so. Believing, desiring, deciding, and choosing correctly are the simple actions that define an increase in happiness and an increase in the inner assurance that transcends this life.”
–Benjamin DeHoyos
